Saint Calixte en Louron
It was once in Louron...

On August 3rd, 2008, a musical tour led us along the paths of Louron up to the foot of  Saint Calixte.

Welcomed by the sweet music of traverse flutes and trombone in the church Saint Jacques de Camors, this tour ended in the dark night in the sound of the voices of two singer Saint Calixte
envoutant !

As privileged moment of union between the valleys of Aure and Louron, gathered as part of the "Country of Art and History" thanks to the link between the work of three associations. "The Festival of Small Churches of Mountain", "Saint Calixte in Louron, thousand years and later..." and "Memories of Valleys", on the afternoon of August 3rd, 2008 marked the first five years of our association's investment in Saint Calixte, as well as a final in beauty.

If you had no possibility of being among us, I invite you to discover the word of the president of our association which welcomed the participants to Saint Calixte, as well as pictures of the various moments which punctuated this festive afternoon.

Isabelle CLAVERIE's word, president of the association "Saint Calixte en Louron, mil ans et après..."

"A word of reception, just to thank you all, of your presence.

The association "Saint Calixte en Louron" was created five years ago, to value the Romanesque church which dates from the 11th Century.

We are not the only ones to wish to act for the protection of our heritage. And today, in partnership with the "Festival of the Small Churches of Mountain" and "Memories of Valley", we are happy to cement this common objective : become known and share.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank :

Mr Flourette and the municipality for bringing us the legitimacy to our action.

The volunters of the association who, by their commitment, have got us to where we are.

Mr Morinière et Cathy Suzanne of "Memories of Valleys" and its active members, who federate our valléenne culture.

The association "Festival of the Small Churches of Mountain" which, by inviting us, allowed this musical meeting between valley of Aure and valley of Louron.

Brother Henri and Sir Priest, of community of the Brothers of Bordères, which value our small churches within the framework of conducted tour.

Finally, I am particurlaly anxious to thank the performers of this demonstration :

Elodie, Ondine, Jean-Claude Dupuis : flutes, trombone and singing
